Everglades_National_Park was created to protect the fast disappearing and fragile ecosystem of wetlands and cypress and mangrove forests. About one million people visit each year.
Everglades City, a small hamlet south of Naples, provides a gateway to the Everglades for visitors to Southwest Florida. Many thrill to an airboat ride through the wetlands. Others wish for a quiet ride to view wading birds, alligators and other wildlife.
